Presentation Topics Are Posted

A sincere “Thank You!” to everyone who submitted an application to speak at WordCamp NYC. We were truly overcome to see the response from the community - nearly 120 submissions in total! It was a challenge to choose from them, as we tried to balance a full menu of WordPress noodling with adequate air and space for all that happens in between the sessions, unplanned.

From that strong submission list we have curated an action-packed Saturday of close to 15 tracks (some are “mini-tracks” – more on that later), consisting of almost 80 individual sessions. And that is only on Saturday!

There is something for everyone in this diverse group, with presentations geared toward bloggers and developers, sysadmins and SEO-heads, designers and do-it-yourselfers, server-side ninjas and CEOs, teachers and web creatures…. basically all the great people who live and love WordPress.

If you have been waiting to see what we’d serve up before you grabbed a ticket, wait no longer my friend. Sign up for the show today, because this is a group of sessions that aims to inform. All in one place for one weekend only: WordCamp New York City!

Check out the full list of sessions.

WordCamp NYC wants to thank BraveNewCode for coming as a Bronze Level sponsor! Much appreciated!

Sponsor Spotlight: WP Engine

Our great thanks to WP Engine for coming in as a Silver Level Sponsor for NYC WordCamp 2012!

In their own words:

QUIT WORRYING AND LET US RUN WORDPRESS FOR YOU
“We serve 100,000,000 requests daily, each one carefully and continuously tuned for speed, scalability, and security. We’re beloved by hundreds of bloggers from huge, popular sites down to small company home pages who care about their SEO ranking and their users’ experience. Perhaps best of all is our tech support, where only WordPress experts answer questions. As Mikhail Baryshnikov says, “Try it. You’ll like it”
“My site loads ridiculously fast, my page views are up, and my business is seeing the results. I rest easy at night with the level of support. My only regret: that I didn’t move to WP Engine sooner.”
– PHIL SIMON, AUTHOR OF THE AGE OF THE PLATFORM

How fast could your site be on WP Engine? Visit Speed.WPEngine.com for your results now.

Speaker and Sponsor applications are closed!

Yep, that’s right. We are no longer accepting applications for speakers or sponsors. Thanks for your interest, but we had to cut it off at some point, or we’d never get this WordCamp finished! There’s been an overwhelming response, both from potential speakers (over 100 applications received!), and generous sponsors, listed on the sidebar of our site (with a few more to come).

If you still want to give back to WordCamp, you have a couple of options left:

Volunteer

With such a huge WordCamp, we need an army of hard-working volunteers to keep things running smoothly. From the night before, folding T-shirts and alphabetizing name tags, to Sunday night cleanup, volunteers will make sure that we make this the Best WordCamp Ever. If you want to help us out, head on over to our Volunteer page, and sign up. We are only looking for a few more people, but we especially need folks who can help with running rooms during sessions and taking video.

Individual Sponsor Ticket

We will be opening up ticket sales here in the next couple of weeks, and alongside the regular ticket, we will be offering an Individual Sponsor Ticket, which will cost twice as much. You’ll get a notation on your event badge to show how much you care, and we’ll even tweet out your name when you buy the ticket.

We’re going to get right to work on choosing speakers, so stay tuned to this site for more information on the speaker schedule, ticket sales, and, of course, the totally awesome after party!

Call for Volunteers

With six weeks until WordCamp NYC, and an expected 800+ attendees there is plenty to do… and we need people to help. So, if you want to give back to the WordPress community and you’re in the NYC area, then consider volunteering for WordCamp NYC.

You’ll be working side-by-side with other community members, having fun, and putting together one of the largest WordCamps ever. Before the event we’ll need your help with preparation and setup. During the event we’ll need volunteers to assist with registration and food, help attendees find their rooms (our venue is large), get speakers setup, and anything else you can think of.

For more information on what we need help with, and to sign up, head on over to our Volunteer Page.

If you plan on volunteering, please sign-up now…don’t wait until the event.
